Part 135

Q3 2025

At TxJet, our mission is to ensure that each lifesaving organ is transported to the recipient safely and reliably. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are committed to providing industry-leading aviation services to our donation and transplantation partners.

Our operations are conducted under Part 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), which govern on-demand charter flights. This certification allows us to offer flexible, efficient and safe air transportation tailored to the critical needs of organ transplantation.

What is a Part 135 Carrier?

Part 135 refers to a section of the FARs that regulates commercial air carriers operating smaller aircraft (having 30 or fewer seats) on a charter basis, and at times, with a very limited schedule.

This certification is essential for companies like TxJet that provides on-demand, unscheduled air transportation to transplant recovery teams and flights delivering a lifesaving organ.

Why is Part 135 Regulation Important?

Operating under Part 135 ensures that air carriers adhere to stringent safety protocols. These regulations are designed to protect passengers, crew and the public by maintaining high safety standards including:

  • Pilot Qualifications: Pilots must meet specific experience and training requirements to ensure that our on-demand flight operations run reliably.
  • Aircraft Maintenance: Regular and thorough maintenance schedules are mandated to keep our aircraft ready to serve.
  • Operational Control: TxJet must have defined procedures and partnerships for flight operations, including weather assessments and flight planning.

Benefits of Part 135 Certification

For transplant surgeons and patients on the waitlist, Part 135 certification offers several key advantages:

  • Flexibility: We can operate on-demand flights, allowing us to establish flights that accommodate the complexities of organ recovery.
  • Access to More Airports: Part 135 operators can utilize smaller airports, bringing surgeons closer to donor hospitals which reduces ground transportation time.
  • Customized Services: We can schedule flights to meet the required ground time for surgical recovery.

By adhering to Part 135 regulations, TxJet ensures that we provide safe, reliable, and efficient air transportation for organ recovery teams, ultimately contributing to the shared mission of saving lives through aviation innovation.
